What dress to wear when you are round

What dress to wear when you are round ?

When you are round, you are looking for a dress that refines your curves while enhancing your femininity. The styles are varied: dress trapeze, shirt, right, empire... Which dress to choose for a round woman? Which cut, which fabric, which style to privilege to sublimate its curves ? Here are some tips to help you make the right choice.

Know your morphology

Whether you have a lot of curves or not, you must know your morphology to make the right choice. You will then be able to decide on the cut, length, and neckline you want to wear.

Morphology in A

If you are in the A morphology, your hips are wider than your shoulders. Your curves are mainly located in the buttocks, thighs and hips.

This is the most common female morphology. Dresses with a flared shape, flowing material and highlighting your cleavage are best suited to this silhouette.

H-shaped morphology

Your hips and shoulders are aligned, your waist is not marked and your body is proportioned.

In this case, you can redesign your waist by wearing a trompe l'oeil dress that plays on prints. Straight cuts are also advised to highlight your hips and shoulders.

Morphology in O

It is characterized by curves in the stomach, chest, shoulders and buttocks.

To emphasize the shapes without accentuating them, favor fluid materials and cuts reaching the knees. A nice neckline will enhance your femininity.

V-shaped morphology

In the V-shaped morphology, your shoulders are wider than your hips. You can highlight your chest by adopting an open neckline with a V-neck. Think of underlining your waist and wear a fluid material which will bring volume on the bottom of your body. Curvy cuts, especially wrap cuts, are particularly suited to your figure.

X-shaped morphology

If you have an X-morphology, your hips are as wide as your shoulders and your waist is thin.

It is an ultra feminine silhouette with a marked waist, and a generous chest and hips.

All cuts can be worn with the only condition to think of underlining your waist with a belt.

Choosing the right type of dress

In terms of colors and materials, favor small prints that bring a more chic look. The thick materials amplify the forms, it is preferable to wear fluid fabrics. Tight dresses as well as dresses that are too wide are not adapted to round silhouettes. Here are the styles of dresses which will sublimate your silhouette the most.

Choosing the right type of dress

The little black dress

It is the essential of all the wardrobes! The black color refines the silhouette and it must be fitted and slightly flared. Choose it preferably with ¾ sleeves and reaching above the knees. For the neckline, prefer a U or square neckline if you have a large chest, otherwise you can wear a round or V neckline. This model hides the curves and brings grace to your silhouette.

The wrap dress

This is a dress that closes on itself thanks to a belt integrated into the dress and is tied at the waist. It allows to blur the curves of the belly, while emphasizing your cleavage.

The empire dress

Half-long or long, the empire dress is tightened below the chest. It allows thus to camouflage the roundnesses of hips and belly while refining the silhouette and by throwing your legs.

This type of dress is not adapted to all the morphologies, it is to proscribe if you have a strong breast.

The straight cuts

There are several types of straight dresses: the blouse dress or the dress covers for example.

The straight cut brings fluidity and suggests the roundnesses. Think of wearing it with a belt to emphasize the waist.

Opt for a bohemian look

The bohemian style

The bohemian style is perfect to dress a curvy woman because this style emphasizes the natural side and is based on loose and comfortable clothing, perfect for a curvy woman.

Vie De Bohème has a special plus size dress collection that only includes clothes that go up to minimum size double XL (XXL) and can go up to quadruple XL (XXXXL).

The word bohemian appeared at the end of the 18th century, they called then bohemians the artists who lived in poverty, and who wore worn and old clothes. They were associated with the gypsy nomads, originally from the Balkan region called Bohemia.

Later, the word bohemian became synonymous with an alternative culture based on creativity, art, rejection of social classes and traditional aesthetic codes. In fashion, it is a trend that opposes the wearing of the corset, proposing clothes focused on the loose fit, enhanced with handmade embroidery and designs.

In the 20th century, it is the ethnic designs that were brought to the fabrics, as well as the floral prints, patterns and swirls. It was then adopted by the hippie movement.

Today, the bohemian style still represents a liberated lifestyle and an alternative to traditional fashion.

It can be combined with other styles to create a bohemian country or bohemian chic look for example. The fabrics are airy and fluid. The materials mainly used are lace, cotton or silk. These are comfortable clothes, in which you feel free to move.
